If you have been using the .FIT files from the FWBA website, those files will now be available as a download from Ridewithgps routes.  Simply click on the event heading on the FWBA website and then view the route you would like to download, then go to the Export tab and click on the Red link for the FIT file.  This will download the file to your computer, then copy it to the Garmin's "Course" folder.  This service is only available to paid members of FWBA or paid users of the Ridewithgps service.

We are going to try out something new this year - awards for the "Most Weekend Ride Participation"! The clock is already ticking on 2018, so come on out for as many Saturday and Sunday rides as you can.  At the 2018 Christmas Party, we will present awards to our top 10 riders who rode the most Weekend rides.

The top award will be a $250 gift card to Bicycles Inc., and the next 9 people will each receive a $100 gift card.  The awards are one/family, so if you ride as a couple or tandem team, you will just have to share!

    The rules are pretty simple:

    - You must register on-line for the rides and be checked in at the ride.

    - You must ride at least the shortest route on that day's ride.

    - Your membership must be active through the Christmas Party.

    - We will total participation from January 1 through December 2.

You all probably know that we have maxed out our reserved number of 80 seats for the party.  Cheri got a call today looking for 2 more seats, and I also happened to be able to go down to the Stockyards and take a look at the place.  The place is really a nice venue!

GREAT NEWS - There is really room for 2 more tables - so we can add 16 additional seats!  Two are already taken, so now 14 are left.  They agreed to extend our deadline on food order quantity until this coming Tuesday, so registration is back open until Monday!

UPDATE - only 20 seats left! Register TODAY!

Our annual Christmas Party is coming up soon! We are opening registration in 3 waves:

1- First were ride leaders who have earned 1 or 2 free party reservations. They got first dibs already!

2 - All active members are now able to register. We will hold registration to members and their guests through this week. Seating is limited to 80 people, and we have 45 already, so please register ASAP.

3 - If at the end of this week there are still seats available, we will open reservations up to the broader Ft Worth cycling community, including our FWBA Facebook friends, and other clubs that we ride with.

We have a great venue, the Mayor will be there and available to mix and mingle as well as receive an FWBA award, live music by River Trip, some awesome door prizes, and a grand prize.  Vegan meals are available if you include that in your registration.

We want to fill the place up, so I hope you will plan to attend and register now! Go into the event on the calendar and hit the Register button!

Our 2017 officers were unanimously re-elected for 2018 by a vote of 47-0.  It should be noted that this vote total is quite a bit higher than previous years' vote totals.  Previous years' votes were conducted during regularly scheduled club meetings, which experienced declining attendance as people's schedules got more hectic. This on-line process gave the voting opportunity to all club members, not just those present at a meeting.

Thanks to all who are engaged and interested enough to vote!  I encourage all members and potential members to get involved through weekly rides, planning of big events, and attendance of our picnics and parties.

Looking forward to even more fun in 2018!

The rides for our KOM/QOM series are now finished! Results are being tabulated by a crack team of laid off bean counters from Funk & Wagnalls (google put them out of business) as we speak.  The results will be carefully sealed in a mayonnaise jar and not released until the Christmas Party.  We had 12 intrepid competitors vying for the coveted KOM Jersey awards.  The names of the winners will be proudly written on the front of the event jersey, and the other competitors' names will be on the back.

Thanks to all of the competitors and congratulations (in advance) to the winners!
